Child Friendly Communities – Haryana
GoodWeave India had initiated Child Friendly Community (CFC) program in 2016 in four communities of Panipat, Haryana. These communities are hosts of thousands of migrant families including children, a lot of them are engaged in carpet weaving and home textile industries. We have been able to reach out to almost 1,500 at-risk children in these four interventions communities.
The focus of the CFC program is to make Panipat a ‘child labour-free city’ by establishing a culture of education in 10 communities. The primary activities involved are:
- Education Eco-system Mapping.
- Household & Learning Level Assessment survey.
- Establishing MLC
- School Level Interventions
- Community Level Interventions.
Progress as on 31 st December, 2019:
7 Child Friendly Communities, 7,070 Children Supported, 6 Motivation and Learning Camps, 17 Partnering Schools.
